QRT Chairman Young-Boo Kim was awarded the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service at the 19th Semiconductor Day ceremony held on October 21 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Seoul, Korea.

The honor recognizes his contributions to establishing a strong foundation for semiconductor quality analysis and reliability assessment, as well as supporting the technological independence and competitiveness of Korea’s semiconductor industry.

With more than 40 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Kim has led QRT since 2014, focusing on strengthening the company’s capabilities in reliability assessment and comprehensive analysis to verify the quality and lifetime of semiconductor products.

QRT has also contributed to strengthening Korea’s semiconductor ecosystem by providing reliability assessment infrastructure and technical consulting to AI semiconductor startups and small and mid-sized fabless companies that face challenges in securing costly testing equipment and specialized personnel. Since 2018, QRT has participated as an implementing organization in a government-supported reliability infrastructure program, providing technical consulting to more than 200 fabless companies.

The company has continued to invest in advanced reliability assessment technologies and infrastructure. Over the past three years, QRT has invested approximately KRW 80 billion to expand its advanced reliability analysis equipment and research facilities. It has also worked to localize sophisticated semiconductor testing equipment that has traditionally relied heavily on foreign suppliers. Key achievements include the in-house development of a neutron-induced semiconductor soft-error verification system and RF-HTOL equipment for evaluating the high-temperature operating lifetime of RF semiconductors.

Building on its expertise in semiconductor reliability assessment and comprehensive analysis, QRT will continue to advance its technologies and R&D capabilities while contributing to the competitiveness and continued growth of Korea’s semiconductor industry.
